The Myth of Cheap Contact Lenses and The Facts About Lens Care
Cheap contact lenses are better described as inexpensive contact lenses. There is no difference in quality among the major
brands of lens, only in price. Some lenses are better for certain people and certain conditions such as dry eyes or astigmatism. One
thing that is important no matter what brand of lens you choose is lens care.
It's extremely important to maintain a clean environment when your working with your contact lenses. Use name brand
cleaning products to assure quality. Remember, just because the lenses are extended wear, doesn't mean you won't benefit from the
occasional cleaning.
Don't use water from the faucet to clean or rinse your lenses, only use approved lens solution to soak or rinse them. Make
sure that your hands are not only cleaned with soap and water, but that all of the soap residue has been rinsed off so that it doesn't transfer
to the lens and irritate your eyes.
Follow the manufacturers recommendatons for lens care, and follow your doctors order concerning your lenses. If you
experience any redness or pain, discontinue wear and talk to your eye care provider.
Not all lens solution is compatible with every type of lens. Make sure you are using the right type of solution for your
lenses.
